Mr. Robert C. Shelnutt, Jr. has over 20 years of experience as a real estate broker, commercial and residential developer, consultant for a national Fortune 500 builder, and an owner-investor. Robert had executed 1031 Exchange transactions while operating his own brokerage, but only became aware of the Bargain Sale prior to joining Welfont in 2012. Since then, part of his responsibilities at Welfont have included traveling the United States underwriting properties that vary from a 3,200- square-foot bank in southern New Jersey to a 1.1-million-square foot distribution center in northwestern Mississippi.
Mr. Shelnutt is a graduate of The Citadel Military College of South Carolina and carries the discipline, integrity and honor required of an alumnus of this respected institution into his professional realm. These traits, along with his years of being in and on all sides of a real estate transaction, enable him to guide brokers, owners and their advisers (legal and financial) to successfully navigate each individual Bargain Sale with great care and knowledge.
Robert has been married for over 18 years to a gal he first met in the 8th grade. Many years later, a cup of coffee within a mile of Welfont’s current office, ultimately blossomed into a best friendship and marital partnership. They have a passion for English Bulldogs, art, orchids, and do not choose vacation spots that are more than a few hundred yards from a beach. He is an avid reader who can play Zeppelin on the guitar and Bach on the piano.
